Hypothyroidism and Metabolic Syndrome

In the fall of 2011 I was diagosed with hypothyroidism.  I had suffered for years not knowing why I felt so tired and fatigued, and why I would gain weight without changing my eating habits. I couldn’t understand why I was still overweight when I worked out about 6 days a week for over 1.5 hours and ate healthy foods; so I thought.

Finally there was an answer. Western medicine had failed me because my doctor never told me I had a thyroid issue, even when there were tests showing it above the “normal” range.  My doctor prescribed medication but I wanted a natural way to improving my health. This is when I found Shasta and Way of Wellness.

I started acupuncture treatments with Shasta and shortly there after, she began her 8 Week Natural Health Makeover and wellness group.  I was willing to try anything.  I am so grateful to have participated in this group. I learned so much about how food affects our bodies, food allergies, and detoxing in a healthy way.  Last year I gained 12 pounds. With full commitment to eating Kitchari and removing allergy-causing foods and processed foods, I have lost 6 pounds in 7 weeks.  My blood sugar dropped more then ten points putting me from borderline metabolic syndrome to normal. This is wonderful as diabetes runs in my family. It is amazing and I am so grateful to learned so much.
